Our body needs ‘essential nutrients’ in optimum amount. Essential nutrients are the ones that our body can’t produce on its own. In other words, these nutrients can be available only through various food. Such nutrients have two types; macro-nutrients and micro-nutrients.
Essential macro-nutrients like proteins, carbohydrates, and fats are required in an adequate amount whereas, essential micro-nutrients like vitamins and minerals in micro quantities, as the body’s requirement of these nutrients, is very less.
Apart from the above-mentioned nutrients, there are two more equally essential nutrients; fibre and water.
In this blog, I am covering macro-nutrients at first. In the coming days, you will get to know about micro-nutrients.
